Solar Eclipse August 12th 2026

Full Moon May 31st 2026 - Anuradha

Hello Seekers,

There’s a snake curled at the base of your spine. On the twelfth of August, during the solar eclipse, she wakes up.

This eclipse lands in Ashlesha, the clinging star. She’s ruled by the kundalini, the serpent of wisdom coiled at the base of your spine, and her whole motivation is dharma. Respected, she takes you into the steamy caverns of your own soul… mystical power, real spiritual insight. Ignored, she gives you mental instability and a white knuckle grip on the exact thing that’s poisoning you.

Here’s what makes this one rare. Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Mercury are all sitting together in sidereal Cancer, four planets in one sign. Jupiter is exalted there, its strongest placement anywhere in the zodiac. Cancer itself is ruled by the Moon, so this is the zodiacal third eye chakra… the seat of intuition, lit up all at once.

Normally a solar eclipse just covers something. Blocks it. Takes it away. This one comes with Jupiter’s wisdom sitting right beside it, so whatever gets stripped away has protection built into the process.

And because Jupiter is also the significator of teachers, gurus, beliefs, whoever or whatever has been guiding you… this eclipse isn’t only clearing you out. It’s asking which teaching, which authority, which old belief has quietly stopped being true for you. Not to burn it down. Just to stop pretending it still fits.

Astrologically speaking, Ashlesha is the clinging star doom scrolling. You know it’s not good for you. You can’t put it down anyway.

Fourteen days from now, on the twenty eighth of August, a lunar eclipse closes this portal. In between, this is not a building window. It’s an unrooting one. Don’t sign anything. Don’t start anything. Don’t force the big confrontation you’ve been rehearsing in your head. Let these fourteen days do their work before you plant anything new.

The more sensitive you are, the more you’ll feel this one. That’s not a flaw. When you’re actually listening, the universe doesn’t have to shout.

The goddess here is Saraswati. She doesn’t hand you new wisdom straight away. She clears out the false stuff first. False identity, false ownership, everything you’ve been calling yours that was never really you.

A practice for the portal

I’ve put together two ways to move through these fourteen days. A limiting beliefs breathwork practice you can do for seven days or all fourteen. And if you’re time poor, a japa practice, a mantra you can repeat anywhere, in the car, in the shower, on the walk to work.

You’ll find both here: https://www.geoffrupp.com/practice/

Whichever one you choose, give it the fourteen days. Let it clear what it’s here to clear.

I’ll be back before the twenty eighth with what’s coming as this portal closes.

Until next time Seekers, with love and gratitude, Geoff.
